Mushroom Picking Safety
To safely forage for mushrooms you should always take an expert with you. Our courses are presented to aid your identification knowledge and should be used under the supervision of a veteran, knowledgeable mushroom picker. All our courses come with a dedicated tutor who can help you identify when you are in the wild.
Touching Poisonous Mushrooms
Holding or touching a deadly mushroom won't make you sick. For the poison to hurt you, you would need to ingest it. As a result, you can pick up a mushroom and study it without worrying that you'll get sick.
Avoid mushrooms that are damaged.
Do not eat spoiled mushrooms to prevent food poisoning. When a mushroom acquires darker patches, wrinkles, or other modifications to its typical texture, it is too old.
Avoid foraging mushrooms when it begins to freeze
In cold temperatures, the water inside of a mushrooms freezes into ice, increasing its volume and breaking the mushroom apart from the inside. The mushroom perishes as a result then when the temperature rise again, germs begin to grow inside the mushroom, which causes it to quickly become putrid.
