Good overview of the basics
The Steinpilz identification section was particularly helpful. I wish there were more videos of actual foraging trips rather than just slide presentations, but for the price it's decent value. Passed the exam on my first try.
Potentially life-saving information
Exactly what I needed before my first proper mushroom hunt. The section on poisonous lookalikes stopped me from making what could have been a serious mistake with Knollenblätterpilze (death caps). The course is well-structured and the exam really tests your knowledge properly.
Decent but could be improved
Informative but some of the photos could be higher quality. Regional variations aren't covered much - I found the course focused heavily on southern German species. Still, better than just watching YouTube videos randomly. Would be 4 stars with better image quality.
Great for learning with family
Clear explanations without being too technical. My 14-year-old daughter took it with me and we both learned a lot. The exam questions were harder than I expected which is actually good - shows they take safety seriously. We both passed but had to study the materials carefully.
Useful even for experienced foragers
Been foraging for years but wanted to formalize my knowledge. Picked up several things I didn't know, especially about substrate preferences for different species. The spore print section was excellent and the microscopic identification tips were surprisingly detailed for an online course.
